Kayla Maiuri is the author of Mother in the Dark (Riverhead, 2022). Her work has appeared in The New York Times Book Review, BOMB, Joyland, and elsewhere. A graduate of the writing program at Columbia University School of the Arts, she’s currently serving as a judge for the National Book Critics Circle’s Gregg Barrios Book in Translation Prize.
